Its been a little while since I've been able to work on this site. I just finished working on the Rose's page and I have just finished getting all the photos off my phone that I found in my Grandparents photo box. In the process of sorting and posted them on here and on Facebook.

The 2 DNA test that I order from Ancestry.com came in earlier this week and I have just mailed off. Now I must patiently wait for the results. Something I'm not very good at. Maybe I'll be able to learn something new about my Dad's family now. I hope so, his side of the tree is looking a little bare.

I'm still continueing to

George Edward Stanton and Beatrice Ann Knight were my Great Grandparents. Their daughter Esther Lorraine Stanton was my Grandmother. Like the family My Grandma S married into I don't know much about George and Beatrice. At least not from any records I can find. I do know from the 1930 Census that George was born about 1895 in New York and that Beatrice was born about 1903 also in New York.

Now at first we thought Beatrice had been born in England. However, in the only Census in which she is listed states that she was born in New York, as well as her parents. I have to go with what the census says for now since I can not locate a birth or marriage certificate for either George or Beatrice. I also do not know either of their parents names. The only thing anyone seems to know about these two is what you would call a forbidden love story.

According to family tradition, Beatrice was born in to a wealthy family. She somehow meet George, who seems to have made his living as a farmer, fell in love, and apparently ran off and married him. The story goes on to say that Beatrice's parents did not approve and basically disowned her.

Now, Beatrice and George seem to have married around 1930, maybe even 1929. Their first child, my Grandmother, was born the 15 October 1931 in New York. Their second child, my Uncle Eddy, was born abt. 1933 also in New York. Now this is what we know for a fact, kind of.

This is where the whole tragic love story comes in. Apparently, either Beatrice died after giving birth to Uncle Eddy, not long after or maybe a year or so after his birth. My Grandmother always told us that they were very poor during The Depression. There was never enough food and her mother died of starvation so that the kids could eat. The fact is that by 1935 Beatrice is dead and her children are found living in an Orphanage in 1940. I can narrow down her death to between 1933 and 1934 because the 1940 Census asks if people where living in the same place in 1935, which stated that the children had been living there in 1935. I have not found a death or burial record to confirm anything, this is all guess work.

Now you may ask, where was George? Why wasn't his children with him? Well times where hard and George was a Farmer. He probably could not take care of the children after Beatrice died. So the state took them. I did find George in the 1940 Census though. He is working as a Farm Hand on the Farm of Frank and Hilda Berney, not to far from his children. I can find nothing else about George. I don't know if he remarried or when he died.

My Grandmother told me that when she was little and still at the orphanage her Father came to see her. He told her that he was working to get her and her brother out and back with him. My Grandmother never saw him again. She and her brother were adopted while they were still young. My Grandmother did tell me that one day when she came home from school there was a message. An elderly couple where looking for the Stanton children. My Grandmother never saw them and they never called or tried contacting the family again.

Not much new information found today except that I have completely disproved my Dad's statement that he doesn't have a lot of family. Please...The Durochie's are almost in the running when it comes to the Davis, Campbell and Rose Families. Only thing missing would be the whole multiple twins thing the Rose's had going on.

I'm still trying to get all the new pictures that I have found uploaded. There are a lot. We like taking pictures in this family, of everything...My mom likes taking pictures with food. All the time...

Nothing wrong with that of course...

I LOVE YOU MOM!

Anyways, Some new stuff was added to the website today and yesterday. More to come maybe tomorrow or the next day. I'm fighting the flu right now so I don't know how much will be accomplished this week but hopefully I'll be fine soon and with more cool and interesting stuff!

Next I'm working on the Stanton Family and the Clark Family page.

I have been searching for this man for many many years. I still don't really know who he is yet but I do know that this man is my Great Grandfather Albert Thomas McDonald. I'm not sure who the two women in the picture are. Maybe they are his sisters? Or maybe one of them is his daughter Cecilia? I don't know. But I plan to find out.

So this morning I finished setting up the Durochie Family page and started putting some pictures together. I have very few to tell you the truth. So while putting together this outline I once again realized that I didn't have a few documents for my Great Grandmother Cecilia and her family. This isn't a surprise to be as I only just recently discovered a few members of her family early last year.

I only know for sure that Toussaint Durochie is my Great-Great-Great Grandfather. Here is what I have for Toussaint so far.

One of the other researchers Have found him, His wife Elizabeth and son Agnes, who is 2 at the time, in the 1861 Canadian Census.

Here He is with his Mother, Wife and Children in the  1871 Canadian Census.
Here he is again with his Mother, Wife and Children in the 1881 Canadian Census.
Here he is again with Wife and Children in 1891 Canadian Census.

A copy of his marriage record to Elizabeth Frances Gadbois.
And here is His death and burial records.

Today I found the 1871 and 1881 Census as well as his death and burial information. I would really like to maybe see if I can find a picture of him and his wife or maybe their grave site.

Right now I am in the process of tracking down all the information for his descendants. I think his oldest son Agnes might have died young as he only appears in the 1861 Census and no other Census with the family again. I can't seem to find a Birth, Baptism, or Death record for Agnes.

Well the search continues!

I am currently trying to put together a quick out line of my Davis Line from my mothers side. of course as I am going through this side I am seeing that I have not completed my dependance research for all of the siblings and children on that line. So there is another thing on my to-do list. I have also realized that while I have most of the census records for that family on my direct line I do not have all of them. So I believe I will be working on that as well today before work.

I'm starting to see how I find my self never getting what I originally plan for the day done. I always seem to go off in the opposite direction only to wonder how I got there at the end of the day.

Welcome to my first ever website. My good friend Krystina just recently created one herself and seeing how beautiful hers is I thought why not create my own. What a perfect place to keep all my research in one place that would be easy to access by all my relatives who are curious to see what I've come up with next. I also want to mention that my cousin Stephanie has her own family website blog that I got some of my ideas on how to present some of my research. Which I'm sure she will notice if she looks at some of my pages that are done. ^-^ As soon as I figure out how to link them you will find both Stephanie and Krystina's websites in the link page.

This is of course still until construction and will take some time getting everything all set up so expect to see a lot of changes over the next few weeks as I slowly add everything that wish to this site.
